From connected health monitoring to healthier habits: OMRON’s Premium Care programme with bolttech
Helping OMRON combine connected health monitoring, personalised insights, rewards and insurance protection to encourage customers to take a more active role in managing their cardiovascular health
The brief
OMRON Healthcare Singapore wanted to extend its relationship with customers beyond the sale of connected blood pressure monitors by creating a more holistic health experience.
While connected devices provide valuable health insights, maintaining regular monitoring and long-term engagement can be challenging. OMRON wanted to create a programme that encouraged customers to monitor their blood pressure consistently, build healthier habits and unlock greater value from its connected health ecosystem. OMRON partnered with bolttech and QBE Singapore to launch Premium Care, a subscription-based programme combining connected health services, personalised insights, rewards and insurance protection.
Results
One year after launch, OMRON evaluated the programme through an analysis of 53,553 home blood pressure readings from >250 Premium Care members, alongside data from 25,993 OMRON Connect users in Singapore. The evaluation found improved blood pressure outcomes, higher engagement with health monitoring, and an increase in monitoring frequency after members joined Premium Care.
The findings demonstrate the potential for connected health programmes to encourage more consistent monitoring and support customers in taking a more active role in managing their cardiovascular health.
4.6mmHg reduction in average systolic blood pressure among members with hypertension, from 135 mmHg to 130 mmHg
of members who began outside the healthy blood pressure range achieved blood pressure control during the study period
Premium Care members measured their blood pressure on a median of 14 days per month, compared with 5.5 days among non-members
Members monitored their blood pressure around 2.5 times more regularly than non-members
Among members with measurement history before enrolment, monitoring frequency increased from 8.7 days to 18 days per month
This represents more than a twofold increase in regular blood pressure monitoring after joining the programme
