The brief

Taiwan Mobile is one of the country’s largest telecommunications providers, serve more than 10 million customers, a 30% market share. Part of the Fubon Group, Taiwan Mobile is expanding into digital services, fintech, and EV infrastructure. 

To offer customers greater value and convenience, Taiwan Mobile set out to embed insurance into its key customer channels, their app and website. Taiwan Mobile’s previous insurance broker lacked the required online licensing and related digital capabilities to deliver a compliant, digital-first experience. Taiwan Mobile turned to bolttech to deliver a seamless, scalable solution that could support its ambitions for embedded protection propositions offered contextually within its customer journeys.

What we delivered

bolttech partnered with Taiwan Mobile in May 2023 to launch a compliant, white-label embedded insurance platform fully integrated into the Taiwan Mobile digital ecosystem and tailored to local market needs.

Developed a licensed, white-label digital insurance platform integrated into the Taiwan Mobile app and website
Launched with 13 travel insurance products from Taiwan Mobile Fubon Insurance, to offer a variety of coverage benefits and price points
Enabled seamless in-app purchases through Taiwan Mobile billing accounts, eliminating the need for external redirection of payments
Activated targeted campaigns using SMS, app buttons, and loyalty programme incentives
Provided end-to-end support for Taiwan Mobile team across compliance, technology, and operations.

Results

This partnership delivered a scalable embedded insurance model and marked a key step in Taiwan Mobile’s digital evolution. Taiwan Mobile is now exploring expansion into motor, scooter, and cyber insurance.
